Have you heard of PPAP? Chances are that if you ask any child age 8 or older, they will start singing “I have a pen; I have an apple; apple pen. I have a pen, I have pineapple. Uhhhh! Pineapple pen; apple pen; pen-pineapple-apple-pen”.
This now viral music video was created by Japanese comedian DJ Kosaka Daimaou and performed by his character Piko Taro, who he had introduced in his stand-up comedy routines. In the silly yet entertaining music video Piko Taro wears a gold shirt and pants with snake-skin print and a leopard print scarf. The whole video is performed on a completely white background without any props, just Piko Taro showing the invisible pen, apple, and pineapple in his hands and smashing them together.
This song appears to have absolutely no meaning, yet it is strangely addicting and the dance is fun to watch. See for yourself:
